All of our shelving and casework board is coated on both sides with a tough melamine coating. This dual protection prevents moisture from penetrating the board, and it vastly reduces the amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are released into the air by chemicals within the board. In addition, we use low-VOC wood stains and finishes that are free from hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).
